There’s Never Been a Better Time to Buy an SSD for Your PC or PS5

If you are keeping up with the latest news, you must know that the prices of solid-state drives have gone lower than ever because of Amazon Prime Day. Just a while back, people used to put a lot of forethought before transitioning from hard disk to SSD because it used to be an expensive endeavor. But these days, one will likely find an SSD in most computers and almost every PS5 and Xbox Series X.

But how much has the price of SSD fallen? Let us take the 2TB Samsung 980 Pro, for instance, now available for $120. This price is approximately 60% lower than what it was last year. The product is now available for a 76% lower rate over its lifetime. It was launched in November 2022 and was priced at $309.

Therefore, this price drop is excellent news for tech enthusiasts, PC builders, and gamers looking forward to installing SSD in their devices. SSDs have become necessary for devices and are largely replacing conventional hard drives. For instance, if we take the example of even a basic M.2 NVMe SSD, its performance is unmatched. Now a question arises: what is the reason for this price drop? This is because some of the leading chip manufacturers, such as Samsung, have huge inventories, but there is a shortage on the demand side.

If we again take the example of Samsung, the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 1TB SSD, has a speed of 6,400 MB/s. This is sufficient for PlayStation 5. It is available for a mere $79. 99 at Best Buy and Amazon. This is $70 lower than the price it was available last July. The 2TB 980 has more storage and is available for $139.99 at Best Buy. During Amazon Prime Day, the price of the 1TB dropped to $69.99, and the price of the 2TB dropped to $99.99.

The Western Digital WD_Black SN850 1TB is available for $89.99 at Best Buy and Amazon, and the 2TB version is available for $149.99. Similarly, the Adara XPG Gammix S70 Blade 1TB was available for $59.99 at Amazon and Best Buy. The Gammix S70 is available in 2TB and 4TB sizes, available at a dirt-cheap rate. The examples are endless! Therefore, if you are planning to buy an SSD for your PS5 or your PC, it’s high time that you lay your hands on some of the most lucrative offers now. Pick the best deal.
