In the past, our ability to read data could only be done in a very specific way. In the past, the information had to be piled up in a spreadsheet or any type of very organized pattern.
Now, we have actually been able to use other structures and even data sets that are unstructured to gain valuable insights to improve any type of business.
Big data can actually be collected in many different sources such as spreadsheets, emails, PDF’s, and other types of methods of communication.
What Can Big Data Have an Impact On?
Now that you know how big data can be extracted, now I must point out what areas of your business that it can be used for. Big data can primarily be used to gain information on customers and how to market to them. It can also impact the ability that your business can close the sale.
Big data is also useful in observing your processes and seeing points where things are not functioning properly. For instance, if you have a point in your process where customers are opting out or not converting, then big data could lead you to identify your problem and instantly improving on it with A/B testing. It is little things like this that can make a huge difference for your bottom line.
Big data is still an area of business that we do not have figured out fully, but we will continue to improve upon it and gain better insights on how to improve how we organize and analyze numbers and actions.
