It is very often that we forget to record our videos in the correct orientation and we end up storing memories that may become a pain in the neck. Well, not because you did something mischievous but only because the orientation of the video is not correct for your viewing. If you have a laptop then you can physically rotate the laptop to get the correct view. But with a PC you need to bend your neck at different angles to get a good view of the video. Here is the list of steps that you must follow to rotate video in VLC Media Player without any physical activity.
Steps to Rotate Video in VLC Media Player
Open the video that you want to view by clicking the ‘Media’ menu and clicking ‘Open File’. You will be prompted to select a video. Browse through your PC and locate the video that needs rotation for the correct view.
Once you have the video on the VLC media player screen, go to the ‘Tools’ menu and open the ‘Effects and Filters’ option.
From the ‘Adjustments and Effects’ dialog box displayed on your screen, open the ‘Video Effects’ Tab. This is the place that gives you the option to rotate your video.
This is the last step to perform orientation. You can proceed in two different ways
Check the ‘Transform’ checkbox and specify the angle in degrees that rotates your video in the correct orientation. Like in the sample video I have specified 270 degrees to rotate the video that I have to watch by rotating my Laptop vertically towards the left. You can try for different angle and select one that looks the best. Once you specify the angle and the video looks fine click on the ‘Close’ Button and close the dialog box to enjoy the video.
The second option is just below the ‘Transform’ checkbox where you don’t need to specify any angle. The first thing is to check the ‘Rotate’ check box and on the ‘Angle Wheel’ click and hold the small handle to rotate to your desired angle for the correct orientation of the video. You will observe the changes along with the rotation process. When you are happy with the rotation click on the ‘Close’ Button and enjoy.
