The Uniqueness of Personality

It only takes half an hour to realize your uniqueness and uniqueness. This exercise will help you think deeply and understand yourself.

No two people are exactly alike. Think about what your major differences are from everyone else. Write these facts down on paper. Write down the distinguishing features of your appearance, character, behavior. Your inner world is particularly unique. What do you feel, what do you think about? Write down the highlights of your emotions and thoughts, it will help to feel your true self.

Autogenic Exercises

The point of autogenic exercises is to learn to control your body down to the parameters that are controlled at the physiological level – breathing, digestion, temperature, heartbeat, etc.

The autonomic nervous system is not subject to the human will. In turn, this system is divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic.

The parasympathetic system is responsible for rest and digestion, and it is this system that is affected by autogenic training.

Responding to your Inner Criticism

This exercise will help you overcome self-criticism.

Your fiercest critic is yourself. Often we tell ourselves, “you can’t do anything,” “you won’t do anything,” “Someone is doing better than you are. Such dialogues with your inner critic are better not to start, but it does not always work.

Don’t respond with a tacit agreement to your inner voice, learn to oppose it! Recall all the points that will refute self-criticism and emphasize your pluses. Write these facts down on paper.

You must have had occasions when you won. Or long agonized with the project, and as a result, it turned out better than others. And you had many such moments. Don’t be shy, write down any of your successes, even if they seem insignificant to you. For every remark answer on your behalf, it is better to give several examples.

You may divide the sheet of paper into two halves. On the left, write, “You won’t turn in your report on time,” and on the right, object, “Yes, it’s difficult, but I’ll try very hard. Last month I handed in my report before Masha. And that year I did everything on time.”

Of course, you can’t change your mindset all at once, so exercise it regularly.

Learning New Words

Try to learn new words every day. A little at a time, 2-3 words will be enough. Find an unfamiliar word in the dictionary at random, read what it means. Flip through a few pages and find another word. Try to find some connection between the words, this will help you remember them better and refresh your knowledge.

The ideal way to learn new words is to read books, do it every day, at least a few pages.

Top 4 Books on Self-development

Professionals from essayassistant.org pick popular books on self-development.

Brian Tracy. “Million Dollar Habits.”

The author is a well-known psychologist who has created many works on success. In his books, he describes how to achieve wealth from his experiences and examples from the lives of different people.

Mark Manson. “The Subtle Art of Pissing Off: The Paradoxical Way to Live Happily.”

In his writings, Manson shows how you can go about your goals without succumbing to unnecessary emotions. Despite setbacks, it is possible to keep going and achieve your goals.

Carlos Castaneda. “Journey to Ixtlan.”

As in all of Castaneda’s books, the main thing here is not the plot, but the philosophical message. A little tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it… And the journey of the warrior, Don Juan, shows us the interaction with the world around us and with ourselves.

Regina Brett. “God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons That Will Change Your Life.”

To date, mankind has accumulated so much information that it is impossible to count it. And this process continues, science is opening new frontiers, technology is changing at the speed of light. So evolution remains to move in one direction, which also has no limits – and that is self-development, improvement of one’s personality. We need to be aware of what we’re thinking, what we’re doing, and definitely move forward on the path of our own evolution.
