5 Tips for Writing Cool Cold Emails

Even though there are several tips for writing a cold email, not all are practically effective. The way to write a compelling cold email that results in replies.

Write a strong subject line

First and foremost, the recipient sees your subject line. It should be appropriate, intriguing, and relevant, only a few words long. Do not be generic, saying something like “Quick question;” instead, personalize it.

For example:

“[Recipient’s Company] + [Your Solution]: A Quick Idea”

“Specific_metric for [Company Name].”

Personalize the opening line

You could first mention something specific about the recipient: their new project, a link to another company, or insight into the industry. This proves you did your research; therefore, the email doesn’t seem like a mass email.

Example:

Hello [name], I loved your recent article on [topic]. However, the [Specific Point] you mentioned stood out.

Get to the point quickly

People are busy, so make your email short and focused. After your opening line, your introduction should introduce you in just one sentence and explain why you are reaching out to them.

Highlight the value

Clarify how you can solve the problem or offer value in any situation. Use bullet points to make it scannable.

Also:

[Specific process] will increase revenue.

Optimizing (specific aspect) reduces costs.

Include a clear call-to-action (CTA)
