Last Updated January 17, 2025 By Subhash D Leave a Comment

Microsoft has announced the latest improvements to the Photos app, which include a range of newly available AI editing features as well as the potent Generative Erase tool. Users of Windows Photos on Arm64 devices running Windows 10 may now make use of these cutting-edge capabilities, which include the recently added Generative Erase, Blur background, and Remove and Replace background. Windows Insiders on all channels—including the Release Preview Channel for Windows 10—are presently receiving this extensive upgrade. To benefit from these state-of-the-art features, make sure that the application is updated to version 2024.11020.21001.0 or higher.

Generative Erase: Taking Spot Fix to the Next Level

Our popular Spot-Fix tool has had a major update, and it is now driven by AI. It has been relaunched as Generative Erase. This function improves your photo-editing experience by allowing you to eliminate visual clutter and background items easily. Beyond what Spot Fix can do, Generative Erase produces a more realistic outcome—even when deleting significant portions of a picture.

erasing by using AI

Go to Edit Image and choose the Erase option to use Generative Erase. Use a brush with a precise brush size adjustment to carefully remove any things or regions you want to get rid of.

Finer Control with Masks

You may turn off Auto Apply for more control or to remove many things at once. This gives you the ability to add and delete masks, each of which represents a region that has to be erased. Watch as undesired items are eliminated with a few clicks.

Other Fixes and Improvements

The Photos app on Windows 11 for Arm64 devices now offers all of the current AI editing functions, including Blur background, Remove, Replace background, and Generative Erase. Additionally, Windows 10 users will now have access to the whole range of AI editing tools that were previously only available with Windows 11, including Remove and Replace background, Blur background,  and Generative Erase.

Additionally, this update contains several stability updates and enhancements to ensure that all Windows Photos users have a more seamless and improved editing experience. Watch this space for an enhanced photo-editing experience utilizing the most recent AI developments on Arm64 and Windows 10 devices.
