PCunlocker is one of the fast emerging stars in the crowded market of password recovery software and tools. With so many options available today, you may find it difficult to pick one recovery software tool that actually does what it says and takes care of user privacy and security. This is where PCunlocker stands out in the crowd. It has managed to create a buzz among PC enthusiasts and IT professionals and engineers in recent times. Developed by computer security experts, PCunlocker offers both free and premium versions at a reasonable price.
I tested it on my windows 10 laptop and found it faster than many other tools I used in the recent past. It is easy to use and works like magic in case you are looking for a competent recovery tool. If you have failed to reset the password with other windows password recovery tools, PCunlocker is an excellent option that ensures 100% accurate results. Here is my firsthand experience of resetting the login password with PCunlocker.
Installation
The software is available in ISO format file. You need to create a bootable USB drive or burn a bootable CD to install this tool. There are a number of decent software tools to create a bootable disk. I used Rufus and created a bootable PCUnlocker USB drive in less than 1 minute.
The next step is to plug in the USB drive in the USB port and selects the boot option as USB drive or CD drive when the system turns on. The Windows starts to boot and the PCUnlocker user interface will open after a few moments.
User-Interface
The user interface of PCunlocker is clutter-free with a clean, simple, and intuitive design. The top section of the interface presents the option to reset either the windows desktop or windows-server version in case you need to reset the active directory or a domain controller password. The PCunlocker automatically picks the SAM registry file so now you need to select the user account from the list for which you intend to reset the password. Once you select the user account, press “Reset password“. A new window will open and prompt you for a new password. Finally, click on the restart button to restart the Windows.
Results
After the restart, I clicked on the local user account and entered the new password. Wow! It worked perfectly as I expected. Now, I decided to reset my Microsoft account password so I repeated the above procedure. After restarting the PC, the new password worked again without any failure.
Platforms
The PCUnlocker software supports windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and Windows server versions of 2003(R2), 2008(R2), 2012(R2), and other latest Windows server editions. The software is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit architecture. Unlike other password-reset tools in the market, you can run PCUnlocker on various types of hard disks that include IDE, SATA, SCSI SAS, and RAID including virtual hard disk formats.
Price Tag
PCUnlocker is available for free and it allows you to recover your password but does not allow you to reset it. I have reviewed a paid version; available for $29.95 here which allows you to not only reset the password but also lets you enjoy a whole range of carefully visualized and implemented features.
