If you got the Air pods in late 2016 when they are launched, you’re likely now only able to listen to them for less than half the time you did without charging. In this article, I am going to explain why Air pods’ battery is exhausting too fast and what you should do to fix this issue.
We are now in the third year since AirPods were released and we still love these wireless Airpods. Only one thing is significantly different and that is its battery life. Here are some ways that you can try to save the battery life of AirPods.
Steps to Prevent AirPod Battery Drain too Quickly
Try Resetting your AirPods
Keep pressing the setup button on the back side of the charging case of AirPods for just fifteen seconds. You need to wait until the status light shows an amber color and then turns white.
Now reconnect your AirPods to the iOS device and make sure to turn on the “double tap to pause” and other features that you had activated manually earlier.
Draining and Recharging
If the above method doesn’t work out, draining and then recharging the battery may yield desired results. You can drain all of the battery of both AirPods by listening to music or talking with somebody without charging them in between. Just make sure that your charging case is also drained fully.
Once it is done, charge all of them without any interruption and then reconnect AirPods with your iOS device(s) and use them again.
Try Repairing AirPods with your iOS Devices
You can try to repair your Air pods by disconnecting them from the existing devices and try to reconnect them to your IOS devices.
To do so, you just have to open Settings, navigate to the Bluetooth section and select the “I” button which is located right next to your Air pods. Select Forget device. Once your Air pods are out of the connected list, try to reconnect them again.
Using Single AirPod (Temporarily)
If you are going to talk to someone for a longer period of time, just use one Air pod when the other AirPod is charging in the case. When the battery of the first air pod is almost over, use the second one and let the first one charge in the case.
Using one Air pod at a time gives enough time for the other one to be charged so that you can use it after that one drains its battery.
This is only a temporary solution but for the permanent one try one of the above methods.
Change the Battery
If the AirPods are still giving you a continuous problem of the battery getting drained too quickly, and after you’ve tried all of the above methods, the last option you are left with is getting the battery replaced.
Buy a New Pair of AirPods
If you are using Air pods for the last 2 years and you have tried all of the above steps and none of them is working out, buy new Air pods instead of getting batteries replaced. You can buy a new pair of Air pods 2 by selling the current ones online. Air Pod 2 will give you more functions which will cost you only $159.

Fix AirPod Battery Drain Issues
When Apple announced AirPods, some people tried it and none of them gave any negative reactions. AirPods generation 1 has comparatively fewer features than the latest AirPods of 2nd generations and it is obvious that after regular use of a particular thing, it will start giving you some type of problems. The same goes for AirPods, which can be cured by the methods listed above.
