By default, Windows 10 comes with a black theme where the start menu, taskbar, and action center all are in the black color scheme. There is always a craze to apply a color of your choice to these windows components. Post windows build 10525, there is now an option of the auto color theme where the primary color of the desktop background is automatically pulled and applied to your windows theme. Apart from this, you can manually change the color, and turn the color Off or On as per your choice. This article will let you explore and change the color theme in step by step manner.
Open Color Settings
Go to settings and click on personalization. Alternatively, you can right-click on the desktop and click “personalize”. Now under the Home button, click on colors from the left sidebar menu. You will be able to see the default color scheme selected with a preview window shown.
Under the colors settings, you have a couple of settings to choose from.
Automatically Pick an Accent color from my background
If you select this option, the auto color scheme will be active and the most prominent of the colors from the desktop background will be picked as your theme accent color.
Make Start, Taskbar, and Action Center Transparent
This setting will keep the start menu, taskbar, and action center as transparent. Whatever color is selected, if transparency is On, you will be able to see the background screen through the action center or start menu. The setting creates a good glass effect and is a good effort put in by Microsoft developers in creating this option.
Show color on Start, taskbar, and Action Center
If you desire to show the accent color (which you have selected from the available color options), you need to select this option. You will be mesmerized by beautiful colors in the start menu or taskbars and action center windows.
Show Color in the Title Bar
In Windows 10, the title bar has no color. If you click on this option, you will be able to see a colored title bar in file explorer and other window screens.
Choose your app mode
This is a new option in the Windows 10 update and lets you choose between light app mode and dark app mode. Dark theme unlike light and bright theme consumes less energy and increases the battery life of laptops or other windows based devices.
