Recent news has revealed that Legendary Entertainment has got the rights to the Street Fighter game franchise. Legendary Entertainment has struck a deal with Capcom, which is the developer of the Street Fighter game. This partnership is working on the Street Fighter franchise film. Alongside the live-action film, which is currently in the making, Legendary Entertainment is likely to work on other projects related to Street Fighter, which will be informed in due course.
Street Fighter is a series that includes games and fighting videos created by Hiroshi Matsumoto and Takashi Nishiyama. The games and videos are developed and published by Capcom. Released in 1987, Street Fighter is one of the most celebrated video games ever. Street Fighter introduces us to characters like Ryu, Chung-Li, Ken, Zangief, Major Gulie, M. Bison, all of whom are fighters. There are five releases in the series of Street Fighter video games, the fifth being in 1991.
Not many details about the upcoming movie have been revealed at the moment. There has been no revelation regarding the movie’s production window or casting. Alongside the rights to the Street Fighter franchise’s film, Legendary Entertainment has also acquired the television rights. Although a TV series has not been announced yet, Legendary is likely to work and adapt Street Fighter for small screens too!
