How to Jailbreak iOS 12 on iPhone using Unc0ver Jailbreak

Last Updated January 15, 2025 By Subhash D Leave a Comment

Yet another Jailbreak tool has been released which is a more advanced tool and a former part of the Electra Jailbreak team. It has Cydia and Substrate support so that after downloading these tweaks, you can start installing applications that you want to install or do the customizations according to your own preferences.

UncOver compatibility and Support:

  1. iPhone
  2. IPad
  3. IPad Mini
  4. IPad Air
  5. IPad Pro
  6. iPod Touch

Note that this tool is semi-untethered which will require your Apple ID. Now you can download UncOver Jailbreak using Tweak Box App or Appvalley App. This jailbreak can be done on your IOS device, it doesn’t need any computer. If any of the games or applications won’t work after jailbreaking, then you must install an anti-jailbreak detection app on your IOS device.

How to Install UncOver Jailbreak for iOS 11-14.8

Step 1: Download the latest UncOver tool for which you have to head over to www.ignition.fun on your iPad or iPhone running 12.2.1 iOS. Use the search bar and search for “UncOver”. Tap on the get button followed by install for the app to get downloaded and installed on your iPhone.

Step 2: you have to trust the certificate for downloading the application and to do so, launch the settings app > General> Device Management. Tap on the developer name and trust the certificate. Without trusting the certificate, you will not be able to install the application for jailbreaking your iPhone.

Step 3: open UncOver, tap on the jailbreak button, and let the app do its work. Your device will reboot during the process after which you will see the Cydia icon on your home screen. In case the application gets stuck in the “Extracting Cydia…” step, then you need to stop there reboot your device, and try jailbreaking again.

It will take some time and once it is done, you have to check which tweak is compatible with your device to download. You can get a list of compatible jailbreaks from Google and accordingly download the jailbreak.

If you are still facing problems while using uncOver Jailbreak, you can read the article to see what to do to troubleshoot your device.

Delete OTA file

Before you start the process of Jailbreaking, you have to delete the OTA file if it is there. This OTA file will give you problems when you are trying to jailbreak your iPhone.

To find this kind of file in your system, simply go to settings > general > storage and see whether this file is present over there or not. Delete the file if you see it. After doing this, you can try again to jailbreak your iPhone.

Use uncOver b31 or Lower

B32 is the latest release of Uncover jailbreak which you should not use because this is the only reason that will give some bugs and issues to your device when you are using that. Try using b31 for jailbreaking your iPhone.

Turn off Reload System Daemons.

When you are installing anything or jailbreaking your phone and you are not able to do this, the best way to prevent this is to turn off this option as you can see in the option itself that it is a type of deamons that will create a problem with your system. It is better to turn it off.

Cydia keeps crashing.

Cydia is the application which is downloaded in your device when you are jailbreaking it and this tweak will help you to customize your device according to your own wish. If this file keeps on crashing again and again, you should turn off the device and when you turn it on, make sure to turn on the airplane mode as well. If it is still giving you the problem, the last option you are left with is restoring your device. Follow the steps below to restore it:

Step 1:hold the volume up and down button simultaneously.

Step 2 After you have pressed these buttons, the next thing you have to do is press the wake button. If it doesn’t work on the first try, you should try it 2 to 3 times.

After applying these steps, it is still not working, put your device in DFU mode. This will downgrade your IOS to 12.1.1 but try if it works.

How to put your device into DFU mode?

Step 1: shut down your device and simply connect it with the computer using USB cable. When your iPhone is connected to the computer, click on iTunes and it should automatically recognize your device. Press and hold the wake button and home button for 4-5 seconds.

Step 2: press these two buttons until you see an Apple logo or iTunes lightning icon on the screen. alert will be shown up on the computer screen that iTunes has detected recovery mode.

Make sure that you see Apple logo or iTunes lighting icon on the screen. if you don’t see that, try it again.

This will proceed to restore your iPhone to IOS 12.1.1 Beta 3. After this is all done, you can try using uncOver to jailbreak your iPhone.
