10 Best Tips and Tricks to Use Apple HomePod

If you want to use these tips and tricks, you first have to connect Apple HomePod to your iPhone, Pad or Apple TV. Once the setup is complete, you can follow these tips as you read along

1. Tell Siri to Play a Track

Siri is the only way through which you can talk to your HomePod. If you say “Hey Siri! HomePod will begin gleaming which means it is listening. You can then go ahead with your commands. You can command her to play one of the songs in your music library or the ones on Apple music.

2. Control volume

This is a feature that lets you control the level of volume. For example, by saying that “increase the volume by 50%” or “decrease the volume by 25”.

3. Control playback

You can ask Siri to “stop” and “resume” anytime you want to play music or stop it. Another interesting thing is that you can ask Siri to skip the first 15 seconds or rewind 1 minute in between the music as well.

4. Wake Siri up from TouchPad

There is a sensitive little screen at the very top of the HomePod which you can tap once and hold to wake up and interact with Siri.

5. Some Touch-pad Controls

You can change volume, tracks or control playback by simply tapping on touchpad.

6. Use Spotify to Listen Music

Spotify is also a music application which you can sync with your HomePod in case you want to listen to the songs from Spotify application. Tap on Available Devices and then navigate to “More Devices”. Finally select HomePod as the output device.

7. Take Notes

This feature is also amazing in which you can add notes or reminders by just asking siri so that you won’t miss a reminder of taking medicines or anything important.

8. Send Messages

The best thing about HomePod is that it directly assimilates with messages app. You can directly ask your device to text a particular person that “I will be 15 minutes late.” And then you can also ask it to read the latest text message received so that you can even reply to that text by saying it to the HomePod

9. Live Weather Report

Just ask HomePod “what is the weather today?” just like you ask Siri. It will give you the exact answer by checking the temperature through weather application.

10. Listen to the latest news.

You can also access the news around you directly through HomePod by asking her the latest news.

HomePod can’t Differentiate Individual Voices.

Apple developed HomePod to be used as a multi-person gadget. So, anyone in the room can access Siri and give commands. Once you set your device with any of the other devices, any person can wake up Siri by simply saying “Hey Siri”.

Now, we will see how we can set the desired language for HomePod because this device is available in multiple countries and this is the reason why Apple has added many languages in it.

Step 1: Launch the Home app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Long press on your HomePods.

Step 3: Select “details”.

Step 4: Tap language and after doing this, just tap on the preferred language that you want to use for giving commands to Siri.
