This optionality has been developed by the Apple foundation, especially for those people who are unable to control the iPad or iPhone in a regular manner. This function is easily competent in performing important tasks remotely, like selecting options, dragging, tapping an icon, texting, or even drawing. 

This accessibility feature works in three different principles; one is ‘Item scanning’, the second one is ‘Point scanning’, and lastly ‘Manual selection’ method. The first method has a programmed item scanner that allows the user to select any item as per their choice, and this is the default method of this application. The automatic scanning method indeed removed the hassle of pressing multiple keys to navigate the pointer. Thus you can perform the selection and navigation, both the tasks using just a single button. Furthermore, the speed of scanning could be adjusted as per the user of the phone.

In this scenario, we are going to use the TeamViewer QuickSupport because it is much easier and has lesser ambiguities, and to do so we have to download and install the software from Apple’s cloud store to both the devices we want to perform this task.

How to do with the TeamViewer? 

First, you have to install the software from Apple iTunes, as we already mentioned.

1. Now open the application on the iPad.
2. After launching the iPad will show you an ID on the screen, you just have to type the same ID on the other interface of TeamViewer.
3. To avail of the remote TeamViewer application, you have to go to a link https://start.teamviewer.com, and from there, you will be redirected to the download page. However, you can also visit the Apple store and get the TeamViewer. 
4. After installing the TeamViewer on the phone’s interface, you will have to put the Partner’s ID here and press the ‘Connect’ button.
5. And there you go; now you have successfully connected both the devices, and you can have a proper view of the other interface from the phone, and you can also perform some file sharing using this feature too. Additionally, you can also communicate with the phone through the chat window of TeamViewer, and it will also show you the remote device’s health.

This method is also applicable if you want to connect your phone with your desktop computer. In that case, you just have to go to the same aforementioned link and download the desktop version of that application.

VNC Server

Perhaps this application is the most powerful among all the mentioned names on today’s list. However, this is the most unsecured solution too. Furthermore, this application installation to the iPad or iPhone needs a lot of technical knowledge because to download and install this on the phone; you need to jailbreak your iOS first. As we all know, jailbreaking could void the product warranty and also could cripple the product forever. So this process we are going to demonstrate here assuming that you already have a fully jailbroken iPad. 

To download this application, you have to visit Cydia, a third-party app store for iOS, and this application is completely free. After having a successful installation of the application, we need to configure a password to restrict remote access to the iPad. To set the password, you have to go to the ‘Settings‘, and from there, you need to find this application. Here you have to press the toggle button beside ‘Enable‘ and ‘Show Cursor‘, and then you can set the desired password. 

Now to make a proper connection between your iPad and the other device, you will need a private IP. Using a VPN, you can also control the iPad even on a different network. Now, if you do not know your iPad’s IP address, then go to the ‘Settings App‘, and from there, click on Wi-Fi then click on the little “i” in a circle on the right-hand side of the Wi-Fi network that you are connected to.

Here you will get a private IP address. Note down the IP address to a different location because we will use this later to connect both the devices. In this case, we are advising you to use a private IP address instead of a public one because through a public IP, someone else can get access to your iPad and can take all the valuable data away.

Now we have to install the VNC Viewer application to the device you wish to control. After opening the VNC viewer you have to put the IP address of that device you want to control and aftermath you will be displayed a field to provide a password, remember that password you set previously, you just have to provide that one here, and connect both the devices. 

There are many other solutions that are available in the market to remote control any iOS-based device. However, due to the complexity of the entire process, Apple doesn’t support this activity officially. We do not advocate the last method above any of the foregoing processes, as the last method is more complex and has much larger risk factors involved with the entire process.

Use iPhone to Control iPad

Although Apple doesn’t have introduced any full-time screen sharing and remote controlling application solutions for their users, after the introduction of Apple’s Switch Control, we can expect some dedicated solutions from the organization itself. However, until that, we have to choose whether we want to sacrifice the security of our device and data to control some other device using our iPhone or iPad or to wait for something more safe and secured.
