How to Remove Connections on LinkedIn

Last Updated February 21, 2023 By Subhash D Leave a Comment

LinkedIn is a professional networking platform that allows you to connect with individuals and businesses in your industry. However, sometimes it becomes necessary to remove connections on LinkedIn. This may be due to several reasons such as an outdated connection, an irrelevant connection or you may no longer wish to associate with a particular individual or business.

Fortunately, removing connections on LinkedIn is a relatively easy process. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to remove connections on LinkedIn.

Step 1: Log into your LinkedIn account

First, log into your LinkedIn account using your email address and password.

Step 2: Go to the connections page

Once you have logged in, click on the “My Network” option from the navigation menu located at the top of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select “Connections” to go to the Connections page.

Step 3: Find the connection to remove

On the Connections page, you will see a list of your current connections. To remove a connection, find the individual or business that you wish to remove from your connections list. You can use the search bar at the top of the page to locate the connection quickly.

Step 4: Hover over the connection

Once you have found the connection, hover over their name or profile picture to reveal a dropdown menu. Click on the three-dot icon in the corner of the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Select “Remove connection”

From the dropdown menu, select “Remove connection” to remove the connection from your LinkedIn profile.

Step 6: Confirm removal

A pop-up message will appear, asking you to confirm whether you wish to remove the connection. Click “Remove” to confirm the removal.

Step 7: Success

Once you have confirmed the removal, the individual or business will be removed from your connections list.

It is important to note that when you remove a connection, LinkedIn does not notify the individual or business that you have removed them from your connections list. However, they may notice that you are no longer connected to them if they view your profile.

Final Words

In conclusion, removing connections on LinkedIn is a simple and straightforward process. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily remove a connection from your LinkedIn profile. Remember to only remove connections when necessary and to be respectful when doing so. Building and maintaining professional relationships is important in any industry, and LinkedIn provides a platform for professionals to connect, learn, and grow together.
