Have you bought a new phone or a laptop and want to connect to your wireless network but you don’t remember the password? Or You are in an office for some reason and nobody is willing to pass on their Wi-Fi password. Whatever the reason may be, you can still find the Wi-Fi password on a system with Windows installed on it. I will show you three simple methods to find the password on a Windows 10, 8, or Windows 7 PC or Laptop.

Method 1- Wireless properties on Windows

Go to a system that is already connected to Wi-Fi Network. Now navigate to the system tray and right click on the Wi-Fi icon and open Network and Sharing Center.

In the next step, you just need to select the wifi network for which you want to know the password. Now type the following command in the CMD screen.

netsh wlan show profile name=profilename key=clear

You just need to replace “profilename” with the Wi-Fi (user-profile) name found in the previous step.

Under the security settings, you can now find the password against the field key content. That’s it, you have got your WiFi password.

Method 3- Third Party Software

The above two methods are easy to follow but in case you are still not able to find the password, you can go for installing a 3rd party software to reveal the pass-key. Among the many apps available online, Wi-Fi password revealer is one of the best to find wireless network passwords in Windows OS.

It’s free software and works on both 32 and 64-bit operating systems. You can download it HERE for free.

Once you install and run it, this password revealer software will show you the passwords of all the current and previously connected networks. You can copy the password by right-clicking on any Wi-Fi name and clicking copy selected password.
