WhatsApp may Allow you to Search Messages Based on Date in Future

Last Updated September 13, 2022 By Subhash D Leave a Comment

The end-to-end encryption protocols used by WhatsApp are said to make it secure. It currently allows you to accomplish a variety of tasks. However, a few of the best functionalities go unmentioned, such as the ability to search for a specific message by typing a word, number, and file type.

Whatsapp will soon have a feature that allows you to search for a message based on the date, it was sent. According to WABetaInfo’s report, “This function will be quite handy, especially if you want to find the very first message sent to a particular contact or you just want to view the messages shared on a specific day.”

It is learned that this function will be accessible on the iPhone because testing of this feature has already begun on WhatsApp for iOS. According to the sources, WhatsApp worked on this option before but abandoned it two years ago. We are pleased that the platform intends to rework this feature again.

WhatsApp may release it to iPhone beta testers in the upcoming weeks before deciding whether to make it available to the general public. In fact, you may search for a message based on the date using the calendar icon on the search bar.

Therefore, you may simply search for the message that is based on the date rather than searching for a chat by phrase. By doing so, you may quickly locate the message without having to deal with the inconvenience of endless scrolling. Although the report only mentions the availability of this feature on iOS, we are eager to see it on Android as well.

For users, WhatsApp is now a minor part of Twitter also. Twitter has substituted the WhatsApp icon for the standard share icon. This icon’s characteristics stay the same.
